A few years ago, I visited the Arctic Circle with some friends, and I was absolutely stunned by the landscape. Coming from Greece, where the snow is more of a ”nice surprise” than a lifestyle, seeing endless mountains covered in white was something completely different.
I remember my friends struggling to get the snow off the car at 2 p.m, in complete darkness, while I was standing there thinking, ”You know what? I could actually do this. I can see myself living here”. We weren’t lucky enough with the weather to see the Northern Lights on that trip, but honestly , I didn’t mind, everything was already ridiculously beautiful.
Fast forward one year, and somehow I had actually moved to the North. And then one night, I finally saw it. Boom. Magic, happening right above my head. As a photographer, I think that was the moment I was completely sold.
