Wilderness camps
Lights Over Lapland has exclusive access to several locations in the wilderness around Abisko National Park including a traditional yurt or teepee with beautiful views to the north, a lovely fiberglass teepee with a fantastic aurora watching deck, and a small cabin on the frozen surface of Lake Torneträsk with 180 degree views. You will get to enjoy a sled ride behind a snowmobile to reach these locations which is sure to add lots of excitement to your adventure!
The images in the slideshow above give you an idea of how our wilderness camps feel at night while we are searching for the northern lights but we thought you might like to get a better understanding of the amazing stretch of natural beauty between the starting point of our evening adventures and the wilderness camps themselves. With this in mind, we grabbed a Gopro, jumped on a snowmobile and recorded the journey to each of our Wilderness locations during daylight hours. The videos below were captured at a higher rate of speed than we travel with our guests so please bare in mind that your trip on one of our wilderness sleighs will take longer than what is depicted in the footage below.
