Born and raised in the sweltering, sweat-shower land of Sabah, Malaysia, where humidity hugs me tighter than my grandparents at family reunions, I dreamt of living somewhere where the snow and cold air actually exists, and not just in the freezer.

My journey to Abisko started with a casual Facebook scroll and an “OMG, this has to be on my bucket list!” moment over an aurora post. Fast forward, I got a message from a guy named Chad offering me the chance to tick that off my bucket list. My response? “Can I bring three of my cousins?” because, you know, why not share the magic? On February 18th 2013, I met Chad, learned how to photograph the northern lights, and saw my very first aurora, all in one night!

I’ve been to nearly 100 countries, jumped out of planes, dived into oceans, and scaled mountains, but nothing beats living right under the aurora. Abisko’s my home now, and I can’t wait to show you why!
