Welcome! I’m Miquel Such, a passionate cinematographer and Arctic guide with four incredible seasons of experience in Abisko. The Arctic is my happy place, a source of endless inspiration that fuels my creativity and drives my motto: “Explore to create.”
My journey began with a formal education in Audiovisual Communications in the University of Valencia and further specialized training in Sight and Sound North Finland. Since 2016, when I first moved to the Finnish Arctic, I’ve been captivated by the raw beauty and profound serenity of the North. I’ve had the privilege of exploring and working in some of the most breathtaking Arctic regions, including Iceland, where I directed a documentary on the delicate balance between tourism and the environment, and Finland, where my deep love for the Arctic truly took root.
As a documentary filmmaker, my work led me to Abisko, where I instantly fell in love with the place. That initial visit left such a lasting impression that I knew I had to return. Now, a few years later, Abisko is not just a destination but my home for part of the year.
Half of the year, I live in the Arctic, where I guide visitors through the wonders of Abisko and share the magic of this extraordinary place. The other half, I spend in the Mediterranean, always returning to the North when the call of the wild and the Northern Lights becomes irresistible.
One of the things I love most about Abisko and working with Lights Over Lapland is our commitment to promoting sustainable tourism. Protecting the natural environment is essential to ensuring that this unique landscape remains as awe-inspiring for future generations as it is today. I’m proud to be part of a team that shares this dedication to sustainability.
