As the year draws to a close, we’re ending it with a milestone we never expected to reach this quickly. Lights Over Lapland now has 2,000 TripAdvisor reviews, more than every other tour operator in Abisko combined, and we’re still proudly sitting at the #1 ranked experience in the region!
Not bad for a company that started with a couple of headlamps, a thermos, and a very optimistic view of Arctic weather.
Eight Months Ago, We Thought That Was the Big One
If this feels familiar, that’s because it is. Eight months ago, we wrote about reaching 1,000 + reviews across TripAdvisor and Google. A milestone that took us nearly a decade to reach! We genuinely didn’t expect to be writing this blog so soon after. Doubling that number in less than a year wasn’t part of the plan. But then again, neither was half of what’s happened along the way.
Why 2,000 Reviews Actually Matters
TripAdvisor reviews aren’t handed out routinely. People write them because something stood out to them. Sometimes because the night was perfect, sometimes because the night absolutely wasn’t, and the experience still delivered.
Having the most reviews in Abisko and holding that top ranking tells us something important: across thousands of nights, changing weather forecasts, cold nights, and last-minute plan B’s… the experience keeps holding up.
And yes, it also helps that Google notices this kind of thing. When travelers search for Northern Lights tours in Abisko, they find us! Not because we asked them to, but because thousands of guests have already pointed them in our direction.
Still Small Groups. Still Very Intentional.
With numbers like these, people often assume bigger groups, faster tours, and a more “efficient” approach. But that’s not how we at Lights Over Lapland like to do things.
