If you’ve been following our journey for a while, you might remember when we celebrated hitting 1,000 five-star reviews on TripAdvisor last year. It was a huge milestone for our small, family-run company that took us nearly a decade to achieve. So when we looked at the numbers this season and realized we were about to double that number in a single year… we were honestly blown away.
Nearly 1,000 new five-star reviews on Google and TripAdvisor in one season.
Let that sink in. For the first 6 – 8 years, we were averaging around 100 reviews per season. It was only last year that we reached the 1,000 mark on TripAdvisor, a moment we celebrated in this blog post. Now here we are, one season later, standing at the edge of something even bigger.
But here’s the thing: size isn’t the goal and it never has been. Growth is exciting, sure, but what matters most to us is staying true to who we are.
Lights Over Lapland has always been about quality over quantity. Even as our team has grown and more guests from around the world join us in Abisko, we’ve worked hard to keep that small and personalized spirit alive.
You can see that in the way we operate. Our guide-to-guest ratio is still one of the best in the business. Most tours have just 8 – 10 guests per guide.

The Abisko Aurora Chase is the only exception, with up to 28 guests. But even here, the experience remains deeply personal as it’s still the highest-rated aurora tour in the area, if not the world.
